汪扬

汪扬，男，数学家，现任香港科技大学副校长（大学拓展）兼数学系讲座教授，同时担任香港科技大学大数据生物智能实验室主任及大数据研究所副所长。

人物经历

教育经历

1978年，汪扬被中国科学技术大学录取，但由于色盲问题，他从物理学转向数学专业。1983年，他毕业于中国科学技术大学，取得数学学士。随后，他在哈佛大学菲尔兹奖得主David Mumford教授的指导下研究计算机视觉理论，并于1990年取得哈佛大学数学博士学位。

工作经历

1989年，汪扬加入佐治亚理工学院开始其学术生涯。2006年至2007年，他担任美国国家科学基金会的课程主任。2007年，他加入密歇根州立大学，担任数学系主任及教授。2014年，汪扬加入香港科技大学，担任数学系系主任，并于2016年11月出任理学院院长。2020年10月1日，他被任命为香港科技大学副校长（大学拓展），负责广州市校区的筹建工作及其人才招聘事宜。

科研成就

汪扬主要从事纯粹数学及跨学科数学的学术研究，研究重点包括小波、调和分析、数字信号和图像处理、机器学习、分型几何等领域。

人才培养

在香港科技大学任职期间，汪扬推出了大数据科技理学硕士课程。

2017年1月至2020年，汪扬共指导13位博士研究生、1位硕士研究生。

2019至2020年春季学期，汪扬任教的科目为MSBD5004 Mathematical Methods for Data Analysis。

社会任职

汪扬是Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications、International Journal of Contemporary Advanced 数学、Advances in Computational Mathematics等多个国际期刊的主编及编委成员，兼任美国数学与应用研究所（IMA）理事会成员、深圳大数据研究院理事成员、香港Research Assessment Exercise（RAE）的委员会成员、火币全球顾问委员会委员。
